Another Phasebook. (Where two adjacent posts on your Facebook wall - from different Facebook friends who don't know each other - are coincidentally linked.)
My friends Orsi and Máté are from Budapest, and my friend Niz is visiting Budapest at the moment.

A collection of musings, postings I've made elsewhere,
and any other old bollocks that occurs to me.

Synchronicity in Social Media (Phasebook #1)
Below is a screenshot I took today of my Facebook wall on my iPhone. Check out the consecutive posts from Kyle and Jennifer - who do not know each other, and are not on each others' friend lists.
Spooky, huh?
I shall henceforth call this phenomenon 'Phasebook.'

Nut Jobs
Does anyone else find it amusing, by the way, that the word 'fundamentalist' is two-thirds 'mentalist'?
It's the end of the world as we know it. Or is it?
I woke up this morning nursing the sort of hangover that only starting to drink at 4pm and finishing at midnight can deliver, and was almost disappointed to find the world still here. I can only assume, somewhere in the back of my twisted mind, I wanted the Christian fundamentalist nutjobs to be right about May 21 2011.
To quote Peter Cook in his end of the world sketch, "Well, not quite the conflagration we were expecting."
Mind you, I haven't been outside yet. Perhaps everyone else has been raptured and it's just me and the cat left.

God, shave the queen!
It occurred to me that if David Norris makes it to Áras an Uachtaráin - which I sincerely hope he does - becoming the first openly-gay leader of a country in the world, should we address him as 'Mr Precedent?'
